Initial Contact and Needs Identification
I first connected with this customer via Alibaba two months ago and later continued our communication through WhatsApp. During our early conversations, the customer mentioned that he needed a punching machine. To better understand his requirements, I asked what kind of product he needed to punch.
I initially sent him several videos and photos of pneumatic punch machines. However, the customer clarified that this wasn’t the type he needed—he then sent me a photo of a turret punch machine. At that point, I confirmed that he was specifically looking for a turret punch and began tailoring our communication to that product.

Technical Communication and Product Matching
To accurately understand the application, I asked the customer to share the product he intended to process. He sent photos of a perforated screen mesh. Based on that, I confirmed the suitability of a turret punch for his needs.
I then asked how many stations he required, and he replied: 32 stations. I proceeded to confirm key details, including:
- The material type of the sheet
- Its thickness, length, and width
After gathering this data, I sent the customer a formal quotation along with technical specifications, images, and videos of our turret punch machines in operation.
The customer inquired about the motor brand—our machine uses Siemens motors, which assured him of quality. He also asked if the machine supports CAD software for operation. I confirmed it does, and explained the process of importing CAD drawings for punching operations.
To validate the feasibility, I consulted with our engineer and tested the customer’s screen mesh pattern with a standard toolset. The results were positive, and we shared sample punching outcomes with the customer.
I also emphasized the advantages of our 32-station turret punch, such as:
- Fast punching speed
- High efficiency for repetitive patterns
- Support for custom molds
The customer was very satisfied with both the performance and the technical features of the machine.

Final Confirmation and Order Process
The customer had a local agent reach out to me to finalize the purchase. The agent sent over the customer’s purchase intent (PI), and I confirmed all the technical and payment details accordingly.
The agent later informed me that the payment would be made in RMB, and once that was confirmed, we finalized the transaction. I also confirmed the machine’s:
- Operating voltage
- Paint color
- Delivery date
Finally, we arranged for production through our factory. The entire process went smoothly, thanks to thorough communication and clear technical alignment from the beginning.
